Food can set the mood
February rhymes with grey skies, endless boring work meetings, counting the days before Spring arrives aaaand… Valentine’s Day baby!! And we do not want any grinches saying it’s a commercial holiday. We know it is. We don’t care. We need chocolates, hot dates and heart shaped postcards to infuse joy and wonder in the saddest month of the year.
Now the question we have for you is: can cooking be sexy or unsexy? What are the does and don’ts when cooking that infamous meal you hope will get him or her out of their sad February clothes (you know… those depressing jumpers that are warm but neither cute fall sweater weather nor festive holiday sparkly) and into your toasty bed.
We have the answer for you: yes. Very much yes. Food is a window into your soul and your choice of recipe for your V-day date could make or break the mood. Allow us to save you by giving you a few generous tips:

Don’t be fancy. Be nostalgic.
Oysters and lobster have been done over and over. We just had them for the holidays! No thank you, next. Your date will much more appreciate a typical dish you know and love. Bonus points if it's tied to an endearing childhood memory.
Make them us their hands ...
It’s fun, it’s playful, it’s sexy. Have some tasty little dips, some different toppings to pick and choose from, a block of cheese to grate. Anything that will make the meal a 5 sense experience is a winner.
Beans are banned !
We had to add it in there in case the bean lovers had forgotten. Beans are not sexy, for all the gassy reasons we all unfortunately know about.
Anyways, that’s our two cents on sexy food. Also… pizza and wine always do the trick. But make the pizza together and choose a very very nice wine.
We wish you a gorgeous evening love birds!
