Spring Cleaning 5 Ways

Easter came and went in a blur of chocolate wrappers, long lunches and one too many “just one more” moments.

And now April feels different.

The light stretches further into the evening. The markets are fuller. There’s something about this stretch of spring that makes you want to open the windows, clear a corner, cook something green.

So instead of a dramatic overhaul, here’s a softer kind of refresh.

Five small things to do this spring:

Clear one surface
Not the whole kitchen. Just one shelf, one drawer, one counter. Give yourself a little breathing space where you cook every day.

Reset your fridge
Throw out the mystery jars. Wipe the shelves. Make room for herbs in water, bowls of citrus and whatever’s in season. A fridge that makes sense changes everything.

Cook something green
Asparagus, peas, wild garlic, spinach. One simple, fresh meal that reminds you winter is over (bye bye winter, we won’t miss you!)

Upgrade your shop
Think about how you bring food home. No crushed berries. No broken baguettes. No digging around at the door. A trolley that carries it all without chaos makes even a midweek shop feel smooth.

Set the table on a Tuesday
Use the good olive oil. Light a candle. Invite someone over. Spring isn’t about perfection, it’s about ease and joy.

April is for lighter bags, longer evenings and strawberries that arrive home looking like strawberries. Because the best kind of lifestyle isn’t about doing more.
It’s about doing the same things, just better organised.

Here’s to fresh herbs, impromptu dinners and everything in its place.
